Sirsi: A rabid dog created panic among the people in Sirsi on Wednesday after it bit four people on various roads.

The dog bit Ramachandra Raikar of Gandhi Nagar, Government First Grade College lecturer Rekha Prashant, Deepa Lamani and Vidya Shet of Ramanbail. All the four victims have been admitted to Pandit General Hospital.

"The menace of street dogs has crossed the limit in Sirsi. There is a group of at least 10 to 12 dogs in every area. The aggressive ones attack pedestrians and have created fear among people. Inspite of this, the CMC has not woken up. Though the deputy commissioner had assured of taking steps in this regard, nothing has been done," said Suraj Shet, a localite.
