Karwar: Condemning Union Minister Ananth Kumar Hegde’s statement, who claimed some media person are irrational, who do not know what to write and what to report, on Tuesday, District In-charge Minister R V Deshpande said, media was an important part of democracy.

Media is the only reason for minister and MLAs to gain respect in society and it should be used for development of the State and country, he added. On whether senior Congress minister in the district would come to BJP, Deshpande said, “I do not have any information about this.
