Puttur: A bandh has been called by the BJP and pro-Hindu organizations on 17th July, Monday, protesting against the assault on BJP youth leader from Kadaba by some miscreants on Sunday.
The victim of the assault is identified as Ramesh Bhat Kalpure (45 yrs) who is also the vice-president of local CA bank in Kadaba town of the taluk.
A group of miscreants consisting five men had allegedly attacked Ramesh with iron rods while he was returning to his vehicle after shopping.
The persons who assaulted him were identified by police as Prakash, Teenson, Sanosh, Lijo and Santosh. Persnal dispute is being suspected as the cause for the attack after primary investigation.
Ramesh has been injured on his nose and left eye. He was given first aid at Kadaba and then was rushed to a hospital in Puttur.
BJP and Hindu organizations have condemned the assault and called for a bandh on Monday.
