Yellapur: Congress has always nurtured dynasty politics and has opposed decentralisation of power. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last five years, has not only given good governance but has also dragged the corrupt on to the streets, stated BJP National Organising joint-secretary B L Santosh.
He noted this while addressing a BJP election campaign at YTSS education Society grounds in Yellapur on Saturday.
The UPA-2 which was led by the Congress party was indulged in a series of scams. There were scams in organising Commonwealth Games, 2G spectrum, coal auctioning among others.
Vice-versa, the NDA government has passed tenders to the tune of Rs 20 lakh crore for the development of roads, airports, harbours, railways, and others. But not even a single rupee corruption has taken place. This apart, rs 10 lakh crore 2G, 3G spectrum auction has taken place and no corruption has taken place.
Modi has proved to the people that development can take place only if there is no corruption. Hence, the people should support Modi and elect him the prime minister for the next five years, said Santosh.
BJP nominee and union minister Ananthkumar Hegde said that new programmes on development agenda was designed and launched which has boosted the economy.
The country has also not compromised on the security front. People feel that they are more secure. The entire world is willing to join hands with India which is a growing economy and are looking at India with great expectations, he said.
he appealed to the voters to make India free from Congress and this should begin from Uttar Kannada constituency. Fearing the support BJP is getting here, the Congress has ceded this constituency to the JD(S), he chided.
Sirsi MLA Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri said that regional parties have their own limitations. BJP is the only national political party which believes in the decentralisation of power and motivates the party workers from grass root level. The JD(S) is confined only to Hassan and Mandya and the people cannot expect anything from them, he rued.
Kittur MLA Mahantesh Doddagoudar, MLC S V Sankanur, Karwar MLA Roopali Naik, and others were present. It was a show of strength from the BJP as more than 10,000 people attended.
