Sirsi: Lecturers, who are engaged in the valuation of PU-II answer books, are in a fix as they have received an order asking them to attend the election-related training programme on March 31.

“Almost 70% of lecturers engaged in valuation work have been deputed on election duty. If these lecturers remain absent for the valuation work, then the department concerned will take action and if they do not attend the training programme, then the Election Commission will take action”, said a lecturer.

The lecturer also said that many PU lecturers had been sent to Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Shivamogga, Belagavi and other places for valuation. The lecturers will face inconvenience as they have to attend the training programme at the place of their work and then again return for the valuation work in some other place.

“The issue has been brought to the attention of the deputy commissioner and he has taken note of the situation. However, the training dates have not yet changed. It would be better if we are allowed to attend the training programme where we are deputed on valuation. Or else, the training programme has to be conducted after the conclusion of the training programme on April 10,” a few lecturers said.
