KOLAR (Karnataka): Police resorted to lathi-charge on the BJP and Pro-Hindu activists near SNR Circle of Kolar on Saturday afternoon, as they attempted to take out a procession without prior permission.
A pro-CAA rally was called in Kolar by BJP MP S Muniswami and taluk leaders were asked to gather in Kolar on Saturday. The party's state BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel had also reached Kolar to participate in the rally.
Meantime, the party supporters who gathered in huge number near SNR Hospital Circle attempted to cross the police barricades despite warnings by Superintendent of Police Karthick Reddy. When they tried to enter by force, the police resorted to lathicharge and several people ran away from the spot.
