Bhatkal: There was a loss of more than lakhs when an electric wire of high voltage came into contact with the low voltage wire resulting in the blazing of the flame in all electrical appliances of nearby houses and offices. The incident happened near Haduwalli village limits of Bhatkal taluk, in the early hours of  Sundary around 4:30 am.

3 computer monitors, 2 CPU, printer battery, 1 UPS, 6 CCTV cameras, 7 Fans, Electric meter and bulbs from the Haduwalli gram panchayat office were seen spoiled. Similarly, the electrical appliances from the neighboring post office have also gutted by a fire.

The electrical appliances of the surrounding 8 houses too were damaged, for which the loss is suspected around 8 lakhs rupees. HESCOM, police and fire brigade rushed to the spot and conducted the necessary investigations. 

In this regard, a case was filed at Bhatkal police station and investigations are carried on
