Mangaluru: The police have cracked a murder case within eight hours of the committing of the crime at Parankila in Shimantoor in Mulki on Sunday. They have also arrested a man in this regard.

Commissioner of Police Dr P S Harsha said Sharada Shetty was found murdered at her residence at Parankila on Sunday morning.

The police team, led by DCP (Law and order), DCP (Crime) and ACP, was formed to crack the case and the police were successful in arresting one Tukaram Shetty alias Boggu (54), also a resident of Parankila.

He had assaulted Sharada over a trivial issue of non-payment of money for the civil work carried out by him in front of her house.
