Bhatkal: Bhatkal MLA Sunil Naik has submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa in Bengaluru on Wednesday, urging him to withdraw the cases booked against Hindu activists in different incidents that took place in Uttara Kannada district.

He said, many false cases were booked against Hindu organisations and BJP party workers when they staged a protest in Honnavar and Kumta against the murder of Paresh Mesta, another protest staged condemning the assault on a Hindu girl at Magod in Honnavar, the suicide of Ramachandra Nagappa Naik and injustice in the town municipal council.

Along with that, he appealed to withdraw the cases filed against Hindu activists for using DJ at a marriage ceremony held in Murdeshwara and also the complaints registered during the riot between two communities at Chandavar in Honnavar taluk.

In his response, the chief minister has assured of taking measures for withdrawing the complaints against Hindu activists and party workers, after holding discussions with legal experts, said MLA Naik.
