Bhatkal: Two people died while two children were seriously injured after the sooter they were riding in collided with a speedy tempo which was coming from opposite direction. The accident occured at Bailoor NH 66 near Murdeshwar in Bhatkal taluk on Wednesday at around 3:30pm.

The deceased were said to be Brother and sister identified as  Mohammed Kaif Mukhtasar (19) and Afreen (30). Both hailed from Manki in Honnavar taluk.

According to sources, the duo and the two children of Afreen were residing in Bhatkal, Nawayath colony in a rent house. Mohammed Kaif studying in Bhatkal Anjuman college while Afreen was a house wife whose husband is residing in Kuwait.

They were on the way to Manki to meet thier parents who were staying in Manki when the accident occured.

The two injured children namely Azmath (7) and Ahmed (3) are said to be seriously injured and have been taken to Manipal hospital.

The deceased bodies were taken to Manki govt hospital for post mortem.

Hundreds of poeple gathered outside Manki govt hospital after hearing the news of accident.

A case has been registered in Murdeshwar police station and police are investigating the case.
