Mangaluru: District In-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Pooojary said that outpatient department (OPD) services at District Wenlock Hospital will begin within two days.
After the hospital was converted to a designated hospital to treat Covid patients, the OPD services in the hospital were suspended.
The minister said that about 700 to 800 patients used to visit the OPD wing of the hospital daily and they were finding it difficult to avail treatment at private hospitals. For the benefit of the people, it was decided to start OPD services at the hospital.
He said for the benefit of daily commuters between Kasaragod and Mangaluru, a help desk has been set up. The district administration had received 2,000 applications seeking a pass to travel to Mangaluru from Kasaragod for employment purpose.
