Mangaluru: One person was injured when a piece of ceiling fell on his head, while he was standing in the queue at railway ticket booking counter.

Reports said that as usual there were many passengers standing in the queue near ticket booking office when the piece of ceiling fell. But, the incident resulted in injuring one amongst them. The injured was identified as Biju Maityur, a resident of Kannur in Kerala. He received multiple injuries over his head and body, after which he was shifted to Wenlock hospital in Mangaluru. 

It was learnt that the injured victim had been to Mangalore with his personal work and after finishing his work he was leaving to his native Kerala. But unfortunately, when he was booking the return ticket at the railway station, a piece of ceiling fell on his head resulting in serious injuries.

Locals urge that such incidents​ of ceiling piece falling on people have been commonly observed in Mangaluru Central station.
