Ankola: One person was killed and another injured after the bike on which they were travelling collided with a goods vehicle on National Highway 66 near Kanchina Bagilu in Ankola taluk here on Saturday late evening.

The deceased has been identified as Madhusudan Chabbi (21), a resident of Navanagar, Hubballi. According to police, Madhusudan and his friend Arun Vaddad, who was pillion riding, were travelling from Hubballi to Ankol when the accident took place.

Arun, who has sustained serious injuries is being treated at a private hospital in Ankola.

A case has been registered at Ankola police station.
