Karwar: Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Priyanga M instructed the officials concerned to provide assistance to children whose family members got infected with Covid-19.
Speaking at a video conference with the Child Development Project Officials of all taluks here on Wednesday, she said, in some families all members got infected with Covid. At such juncture, children have to stay away from their family members until they recover.
As a result, children may go into depression. Hence, the officials should provide required assistance to such children, she instructed.
She said, with the spiking Covid cases, number of children who are under stress, is also increasing. Hence, Children helpline number--1098 should be utilised to address the woes of children. Awareness on the helpline number should be created, she directed the officials.
She told the officials to keep an eye on child marriages during Covid curfew and to take steps to prevent them.
She also instructed the authorities concerned to help women are in distress due to pandemic. One can contact on 14499 for counselling, he suggested.
