Hubballi:  The Hubballi Electricity Supply Company (HESCOM) will introduce a new method of meter reading from August 1, which is an optical cable meter reading system.

Required training is being given to meter readers, franchises and other personnel. The optical cable meter reading system would eliminate human errors in meter reading and billing, said a press release.

If the optical cable reading is not possible in case of door-lock, photograph of that meter has to be read compulsorily.

Billing has to be done by getting the photograph of the meter from the consumers before the month-end. The new system will result in accurate billing, and less complaints from consumers, the release added.
