Gokak: Flood has taken away several things from the people. But nature's fury has also brought people together. It has united people who are helping each other during such dire situations and has also strengthened brotherhood feelings among the people of different communities.

An ideal example of such communal harmony was seen at Chikdolli village in Gokak taluk where people from the Muslim community came forward and voluntarily cleaned the temples in the village where slush had accumulated during the recent floods.

Members of Ekta Pariwar Al-Khair Welfare Society and Rehman Foundation cleaned the Sri Laxmi Temple and others in and around Chikdolli village which had been flooded with waters of river Ghataprabha.

Cleaning of the temple by the Muslims recently facilitated the people to conduct prayer and other rituals during the holy month of Shravan.

Moulana Abdulla, Abid Jagdal, Arbaz Horkeri, Malliksab Munnoli, Sardar Desai, Imran Mulla, Alam Nayak, Bashir Yellur, Ayub Desai and others took part in the cleaning exercise.
