Moodbidiri: A dead body of a woman was found here at Padukonaje and was reportedly hanging from a tree on 26th September, Tuesday within the local police station limits.
The deceased has been identified as Gangu Poojarthi (60), a resident of Padukonaje.
According to sources, the Gangu’s body was found in a thicket located near her home. She had gone missing since Monday evening and search operations were being conducted by her family members and locals.
Finally, they found her body hanging from a tree in a thicket. However, her hands were tied to the back which has created a suspicion that it is not a suicide case, but was murdered.
The body was sent for post mortem after the police arrived at the spot.
A case has been registered and investigations are being conducted by Moodbidiri police.
