Karwar: “Monthly pension is being given to poor beneficiaries under Dharmasthala Gramabhivriddhi Yojana since 12 years.

This time, 269 beneficiaries in the district are availing monthly pension benefit under the scheme”, said Dharmasthala Gramabhivriddhi Yojana Regional Director Mahavir Ajri.

He was speaking after giving monthly pension to the beneficiaries at a programme organised under the scheme at Gurubhavana, in Karwar, on Tuesday. He said, the monthly pension helps the poor beneficiaries to lead self-reliant life.

Yojana District Director M Laxman said, it is aimed at bringing positive changes in society through the scheme. Training on self-employment and awareness programmes would be organised and encouragement would be given for agriculture, he said
