Karwar: The Election Flying Squad has lodged a complaint with competent authorities against JD(S) worker Prakash Nayak for violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during the procession taken out after a convention of JD(S)-Congress workers in Karwar on Thursday.

After the convention at Maladevi Ground, the procession was supposed to move to the deputy commissioner’s office through Savita Circle, Subhash Circle, Green Street, Ambedkar Circle and CMC garden as per the permission sought.

But the procession came from Kodibag road and passed through Pikale Road, Patrika Bhavan and the path near the PWD quarters. This led to a violation of the order issued by the assistant election officer and assistant commissioner. So, officer Shivaram Subray Goankar, in his complaint, has sought action against the organisers of the procession.
