Puttur: Two youngsters were locked in a room and thrashed by locals for eve teasing a 15-year-old girl. The incident happened on 23rd July, Sunday. The accused were later arrested by the police.
The accused are identified as Praveen and Ganesh. The incident occurred at Ilanthila near Uppinangady in the taluk.
According to the sources, the youngsters arrived on a bike when the girl was walking on the road and pulled her shawl. They kept teasing her. But somehow she managed to escape from them. While running away, she fell on the road and was injured.
After getting first aid, she was taken to a hospital for proper treatment. On studying about what had happened exactly, the locals were filled with rage and they found the youngsters, locked them in a room and manhandled them.
The accused who are said to be minors, are now admitted in a hospital for treatment.
A case has been registered at the Uppinangadi Police station.
