Minor from Kasargod held for bike theft

Mangaluru: Mangaluru East police have arrested a minor from Manjeshwara in Kasargod on charges of stealing a Royal Enfield bike that was parked in an apartment on Kankanady Old Road on February 15.

The minor was arrested by the police when he was trying to sell the stolen two-wheeler in a bid to earn money.

The value of the seized bike is Rs 1.65 lakh.

Tipper lorry seized

The Anti-Rowdy Squad personnel seized a tipper 
lorry engaged in transporting sand illegally to Kerala, via Panela in Bantwal taluk, on Tuesday.

The sand was collected illegally from Innoli.

The lorry was transporting sand without any valid permit. The value of the seized property is Rs 8 lakh. 

Gold seized

The customs officials at the Mangaluru International Airport seized 925.540 gms gold concealed as mercury-coated plates inside the motor of an electrical toy car from a passenger.

The value of the seized gold is Rs 31.10 lakh.

The passenger arrived from Dubai in an Air India Express flight. The passenger was arrested and was produced before the court.

Another case

In a separate case, the customs officials have seized gold in powder and paste form concealed in the rectum by a passenger. The gold weighed 304.920 grams.

The passenger arrived from Dubai in a Spice Jet flight. The value of the gold is Rs 10.30 lakh.
