Maulana Abdul Aleem Qasmi elected as the President of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal

Bhatkal: Maulana Abdul Aleem Qasmi, one of working members of Jamia Islamia, Bhatkal has been elected as the new president of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal. The post of President was vacant following the death of Maulana Muhammad Iqbal Mulla Nadvi. It has been reported that Maulana Abdul Aleem Qasmi was unanimously elected as the President.

According to sources, the decision was taken at a meeting held at Jamia Islamia on Tuesday morning, which was chaired by of Vice President (II) Maulana Muhammad Sadiq Akrami Nadvi. On this occasion, Mr. Ateequr Rahman Muniri was also elected as a member of the council.

Maulana Talha Ruknaddin Nadvi, secretary of Jamia Islamia, said, Jamia's Member of council consists of 60 members, while today's meeting was attended by 25 members.

It may be recalled that Moshin Shabandari alias American Mohsin was the first President of Jamia Islamia, followed by Mr. DA Ismail, Abdul Matin Ismailji and Dr. Malpa Ali Saheb.

Dr. Malpa Ali Saheb had been the President for nearly 25 years. After his death, Maulana Muhammad Iqbal Mulla Nadvi took over the charge of President in 2017. Now, after the death of Maulana Muhammad Iqbal Mulla Nadvi, Maulana Abdul Aleem Qasmi Saheb has been elected President of Jamia Islamia.

It may be recalled that Jamia Islamia was established in the year 1962, while in the year 2012, on the completion of fifty years a three-day grand educational convention was also organised in Bhatkal.
