Mangaluru: The Fifth Additional District and Sessions Court in Puttur has sentenced a man to three years' imprisonment for attempting to outrage the modesty of a minor at Belthangady. The court has slapped a fine of Rs 15,000. 

Dinesh Gowda, a resident of Kedila in Belthangady taluk, is the convict.

Gowda had attempted to outrage the modesty of a minor girl while she was walking towards school on July 11, 2016.

He had even threatened to kill the girl if she revealed the incident to anybody.

Based on the complaint given by the girl, the police had arrested Gowda. A case under Pocso Act was registered in Uppinangady police station.
