MANGALURU: Four persons died on the spot and one grievously injured after car they were travelling collided head on with a truck, near Adkar in Sullia taluk, on Tuesday.
Victims and injured person hail from Madikeri and had come to Mangaluru on work.

Police said that incident took place around 3.30pm. Victims have been identified as Hasainar ,Haris, Ibrahim and Ummar. Injured person is Farooque. They are residents of Kottamudi village in Kodagu district.

Five persons were travelling back to Madikeri from Mangaluru in a hatchback car after finishing their work. On reaching near Adkar, car driver while overtaking a two-wheeler, failed notice oncoming truck and collided head-on. Four persons died on the spot and one person, who is critical, is being treated at a private hospital in Mangaluru.
Sullia police have rushed to the spot and are carrying initial investigation.
