Mangaluru: A door-to-door vaccination facility for the elderly, disabled and others who cannot come out of their house, was launched at the University College premises in the city on Saturday by Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra.
The mobile vaccination facility has been launched by the DK District Administration in association with DK District branch of Indian Red Cross Society, Rotary Mangalore and Bank of Baroda.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said there has been no increase in Covid positivity rate in the district, but there was a fluctuation in the number of positive cases in the past one week period due to high testing rates. He said on Friday alone as many as 11,000 RT PCR tests have been done. He said the positivity rate which was 18 per cent last week has reduced to nine.
KSRTC drivers and conductors are also being vaccinated on a priority basis by the District Administration through the Red Cross, he added.
