Mangaluru: Two arrested in honey trapping case, three absconding

Mangaluru: Two accused were nabbed by the Pandeshwar Police on 6th August, Sunday as they were alleged of cheating foreign nationals by offering the lure of providing Indian women to satiate their desires.

The arrested have been identified as Keertan and Kuldeep from the city.

The duo is accused of sending messages to WhatsApp numbers of foreign nationals, duly offering to provide to them young, attractive, Indian women. They used to send nudes of ladies of the gang or any other unknown women to these foreigners from countries like USA, UAE, etc.

The ladies from the gang also used to make video calls, wearing revealing dresses. The foreigners who fell to the trap were asked to remit money to the account numbers mentioned. Once the money is transferred, the gang used to block the cellphone numbers.

According to the sources, the arrest was made following a tip off from the public who noticed a young woman who was under the influence of alcohol, quarreling with a man near a lodge in Kankanady.

As soon as the two were taken into custody, the woman revealed everything about the honey trapping activities performed by a gang consisting five men.

The Pandeshwar police who registered suo motu case, have begun investigation. Search is on for three other absconding members of the gang.
