Mangaluru: A man was arrested by the Barki police while he was trying to smuggle ganja to his son at the prison on 15th September, Friday.
The accused has been identified as Divarkar. His son Rakshit Gowda is currently under judicial custody relating to a criminal case.
According to the sources, Divarkar was found throwing a packer containing ganja and paracetamol tablets across the district prison wall here to his son from the compound of District Institute of Education and Training in the adjoining compound.
Divarkar was arrested red-handed by police sub inspector Narendra of Barki police station who had conducted the operation based upon reliable intel. The police seized around 60 grams ganja, six paracetamol tablets and a phone from Divarkar’s possession.
A case has been filed at Brake police station.
