Mangaluru: The IGP (Western range) Harishekaran has been transferred in yet another announcement of transfers in police department and the state government has appointed IPS officer Hemant Nimbalkar at his place on 7th August, Monday.
The Karnataka state government transferred five senior IPS officers on Monday.
Hemant Nimbalkar is an officer of 1998 batch and served as additional commissioner of police (east), Bengaluru before this latest transfer.
Harishekaran has been transferred as IGP to Bengaluru headquarters. Harishekaran had taken charge as IGP (western range) in December 2016. Before him, Arun Chakravarthy, who was in the same post, was transferred in just six months.
