Mangaluru: IGP Hemanth Nimbalkar takes charge as the new IGP of Western range

Mangaluru: Senior IPS officer Hemanth Nimbalkar took over the charge from outgoing IGP Harishekaran as the new inspector general of police (IGP) of western range here on 16th August, Wednesday.

Speaking to the press, the 1998 batch officer IGP Hemanth said, “Common people should live in peace and harmony. I promise to take stringent action against those who try to disrupt peace in the district.”

He further said that he is not new to Dakshina Kannada district. “I was in Vittal and Moodbidri on probationary in 2002 and SP of Chikkamagaluru in 2009”, he added.

Outgoing IGP Harishekaran who has been transferred to Bengaluru, handed over the charge to IGP Nimbalkar on Wednesday.
