Mangaluru: “A defamation case might be filed by the Social Democratic Party of India against the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje for falsely accusing the party of supporting the accused in murders reported in the State”, stated SDPI District Committee secretary Iqbal Bellare.
Addressing the press people on 19th July, Wednesday, Iqbal said that the MP has submitted a list consisting the names of 23 people who were murdered in the State in the last four years to the Union home minister Rajnath Singh.
The list was submitted along with Ms. Karandlaje’s letter to Union Home Minister seeking investigation by National Investigation Agency of the murder of RSS activist Sharath and 22 others.
“However, among the 23 mentioned in the list, 19 have committed suicide. The Udupi MP has falsely accused SDPI of supporting those arrested in these cases.”, he added.
SDPI State Committee member Jalil Krishnapur said that it has been planned to file a defamation case against Shobha Karandlaje if she does not seek an apology in public for giving an erroneous report to the Union Home Minister and falsely accusing SDPI of supporting the accused.
