Mangalore: 1 drowned, 3 rescued as boat sinks in Arabian sea

Mangaluru: A fishing boat was reportedly capsized due to high tides and lashing waves in the arabian sea at Baikampadi near Mangaluru, as a result, one fisherman went drowning​, while other three were rescued.

The missing fisherman is said to be Premnath Sulyan (50), a resident of Ullal.

Sources informed that on 30th July, Sunday morning at around 6 am, two boats with 8 fishermen had left for fishing. One boat amongst them carrying four people sinked due to high tides and lashing waves in the sea. Observed this by the members of another boat, immediately rushed near them extending the helping hand to rescue them. But they were successful in saving three people, while one had already drowned in the sea. The rescued fishermen were identified as Vijith, Ashok Mandan, and Jagdish.

As the information was given, MLA Mohiddin Bawa along with police personnel and other officials rushed to the spot and collected the information of the incident.
