Udupi: A man was robbed of  his valuables when he was travelling from Thane to Udupi by the Matsyagandha Express on Friday night.

According to the police, the victim Sunil Shetty boarded the train at Thane at 3.30 pm. When the train reached Chiplun Railway Station at 9 pm, a person offered him some biscuits. Mr. Shetty fell asleep thereafter.

On reaching Udupi, he was woken up by a man only to find his gold chain and five gold rings missing. A cash of Rs. 5,000, two ATM cards, two mobile phones, and a gold chain and a gold bracelet in his bag were also missing.
