Honnavar: A 48-year-old man was stabbed to death for preventing a man from ‘teasing’ a woman at Chandavar village in Honnavar taluk on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Abbu Talib Shaik, a resident of the village. According to police, Abbu had a fight with his neighbour Abdul Kotebagilu after Abdul was found misbehaving with a woman.

Police said Abdul made an inappropriate comment against the woman which led to both fighting. While Abbu hit Abdul with a stick, in retaliation Abdul stabbed Abbu with a knife.

Though Abbu was shifted to hospital, he did not respond to treatment and died. A case has been registered.
