Kumta: A 36-year-old man died after drowning at Kudle Beach here in Gokarna in the taluk on Wednesday morning.

The deceased is identified as Rishab Singh, a resident of Electronic city in Bengaluru.

Sources informed that Rishab on a picnic had been to Gokarna, a famous tourist spot, from Bengaluru and had stayed in one of the hotel here. He visited the beach today morning to take bath, during which the high tides in the sea washed him away causing him to drown and die.

A case has been registered at Gokarna police station and further investigations are on.
