Mangaluru: The Second Additional Sessions Court and a special court convicted a man on charges of sexually assaulting a minor. The quantum of punishment is yet to be pronounced.

The accused is Kishor Bhayya (36), a resident of Bolara Labour Colony and a native of North India.

He sexually assaulted a minor. When his wife was admitted to hospital for delivery, he took the minor girl and sexually assaulted her several times.

When the victim complained of a stomach ache the parents took her to Lady Goschen Hospital. The doctors confirmed her pregnancy. Later, she gave birth to a girl baby.

Inspector Kalavathi filed the charge sheet in court. As many as 12 witnesses deposed before the court. The court also considered 24 documents and the DNA test of the child proved Kishore had committed the crime.
