Karwar: A man, under the influence of alcohol, attacked his wife with a knife near Shirwad railway station on Monday.

Sonu Shakeel of Akbarpur in Uttar Pradesh and his wife Leelavatho along with their three children had come to Karwar to beg.

In the evening, both the husband and wife were drunk when they engaged in a petty quarrel over some issue.

The quarrel intensified and in that mood, Sonu attacked his wife with a knife. 

The injured wife was admitted to the district hospital.

Police took the man to custody and registered a case against him.
