Udupi: Among many Indians who were safely evacuated by Indian Air Force from Afghanistan, one was John Jathan of Malpe Vadabhandeshwar who was working as supervisor in a petroleum company at Kabul Airport of Afghanistan for the last fifteen years.
Speaking to mediapersons after returning hometown on Saturday , he said he was working in Afghanistan for the past 15 years and had returned to Afghanistan after a holiday, just 15 days ago.
He said his employers asked him to return to his homeland considering the dangers posed by Talibans and accordingly, he managed to get into the Indian Air Force aircraft which airlifted many on August 15.
