Mangaluru: The state government’s decision to cancel PU examinations and conduct SSLC examinations is vague on the fate of repeaters and those preparing to write PU examinations privately, NSUI State General Secretary Maneesh G Raj said on Wednesday.
The government should make its stand clear on the SSLC exams and the repeaters preparing for PU exams at the earliest, he urged.
Rai told mediapersons at Congress Bhavan that scholarships were not disbursed to students since a year and thus they were in distress.
Private colleges are mounting pressure on students and parents to pay college fees. Those who had failed to pay fees were denied link to attend online classes. The government should release the scholarship amount at the earliest, Raj added.
DK NSUI Unit President Savvad Sullia said Mangalore University had not conducted degree examination of previous semester and had started online classes for next semester. The varsity should promote all students of the previous semester, he urged. The government should initiate measures to administer vaccines for teachers and students in the colleges.
