'Madrasas must be converted into learning centers' says Minister Tanveer Sait in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: A convention of Mutawallis of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts was held on 23rd September, Saturday at Bolar in the city by the Karnataka State Wakf Board.

Addressing at the convention, Minister for Primary, Secondary Education and Wakf, Tanveer Sait said that technology must be adopted by the Muslim community members and Madrasas should become centres for knowledge.

“Madrasas should not be restricted till offering Namaz and learning Quran only. They must also create awareness on the development programmes of the government for the welfare of the community. The welfare schemes of the government aimed at minorities have failed to reach the eligible beneficiaries”, he added.

Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader, who was present during the convention said that the guidelines issued by the Wakf Board must be adhered to.

Dakshina Kannada Qazi Taqwa Ahmed Musliyar, MLA J R Lobo, District In-charge Minister B Ramanath Rai and others were present at the convention.
