Karwar: CJM court of Karwar sentenced a liquor smuggler to four years simple and two years rigorous imprisonment and imposed fine of Rs 30,000 on him.

Vittu Satarkar of Araga is the accused who has been punished. Satarkar was caught by the police while he was illegally transporting Goan liquor from Goa to Karwar taluk on September 30, 2016. Rural police had conducted a raid and had arrested him.The then PSI Padma Devali carried out the investigation and had filed charge sheet before the court. CJM court judge N M Ramesh who heard the case and pronounced the verdict.
