Mangaluru: Former chief minister Siddaramaiah, lashing at the central government, said the BJP has been engaged in vendetta politics of targeting Congress leaders using Income Tax, Enforcement Directorate and all other central agencies.
At a party workers meet in the city on Saturday, the Congress Legislature Party leader questioned the central government for not taking any action against BJP leaders for engaging in ‘horse trade’ to destabilize the Congress – JD(S) coalition government in the state. “Kolar MLA K Srinivas Gowda has revealed on the floor of assembly that he was offered Rs 30 crore by the BJP to destabilize the government. The BJP purchased 17 MLAs through horse trade. I heard that MLAs were offered Rs 25–30 crore. Let chief minister Yediyurappa reveal the source of money. Did the Income Tax or Enforcement Directorate probe this? The central government has been misusing agencies like Income Tax and Enforcement Directorate to target Congress leaders,” Siddaramaiah said.
