Kumta: A traffic breakdown for around two hours was reported on Divgi NH-66 in Kumta, as a result of land sliding of the hillock part across the busy highway. The incident happened in the noon at around 12 pm. 

Due to the heavy rainfall lashing since a couple of days in the coastal Karnataka, the hilly part across the highway has gone weakened after absorbing the rain water. This resulted in the landslide to take place. Also, it might be noted, for the widening of the national highway, the parts of hills across highway were demolished.

A long stretch of traffic was stationed for around two hours on the highway.
