Kumta: A young sportsman of the town, Naazim Khan has made a tiny town of Kumta once again proud after emerging as a gold medal winner at International Para Table Tennis games 2019 held at Tokyo in Japan on 3rd August, Saturday.
Participating in a team division, Thailand based Thaniyon Rungroj and Chalermfong Funfoo were his teammates.
They managed to win the finals after defeating team England by 2-0 points. Earlier in semifinals, they outclassed Hongkong by 2-1 points to enter into finals.
This tournament is considered as International ranking tourney, which held in Japan from August 1 to 4.
It shall be noted that Naazim Khan, a resident of Kumta, earlier had represented India in para table tennis international games held in various countries including Thailand, China, and Spain.
