Kumta: A 56-Year-old forest guard allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself to a tree at Santegulli village limits here in Kumta on 14th September, Thursday.

The victim was identified as Kamalakar Krishna Naik, a resident of Santegulli village.

Sources from Kumta informed that the victim hanged himself to a tree located at forest region nearby to his house. It is said that he was on leave on that day. The reason behind the suicide is yet to be known.

As the information was alerted, Kumta police rushed to the spot and conducted necessary investigations. A case has been registered in Kumta police station.
