Kumta: A major fire broke out at the Karnataka Bank located in town's Bastipet, burning it completely. The incident occurred on the evening of 20th July, 2017 on Thursday.

An electric short circuit is said to have caused the fire which reduced the furniture, cash amount including other valuables to cinders. Luckily, nobody​ was injured in the incident.

As the information spread, local fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and doused out the fire. Police too reached the spot and conducted the necessary investigations.
