Kumta: More than 3 hours, the movement of traffic was strucked on NH-66 near Bargi in Kumta, due to the massive landslide, that happened in the evening of 29th June, Thursday.

Sources say, due to the continuous negligence from the IRB construction company, the hillock part across the Bargi NH-66 tend to cause a landslide, resulting in the complete blockade of highway. The huge mass of mud was covered on the road, due to which traffic movement from both the sides was nil for more than  3 hours. The road was then cleared with the help of necessary machineries.

Providing an alternate route, the traffic was made to flow through Bargi-Kimani road. Though it was a single way, that road too was reported to be blocked.

There was no kind of untoward incident in the landslide as no vehicle was moving when the incident happened.

Tahsildar Megharaj Naik rushed to the spot. Police personnel too rushed the spot.
