Karwar: In view of the Corona epidemic, all the travelers now arriving for tourism will have to submit the details of their destination and places they will be visiting during the journey, in a declaration form with the tourism department.

People who travel by road will need to clearly declare all the details of their journey. This will help to maintain the information safe with the tourism department about where the tourists have come from, where they will pass through and how far they are going to travel, and these details will be submitted to the health department and as well as to the police department.

"There is a risk of an virus spreading through people coming from outside the state, so we want the police department and the health department to have the necessary information," said a tourism official. If we have the details, it will be easier for us to trace out who has reached here through which cantainment area. In addition, if a tourist's health deteriorates, it will be easy to contact and take appropriate action.

Tourists need to upload their travel details as a self-declration. This form will also have to be filled while staying in hotels. It will also be mandatory for tourists to have an official identity card with them. If anyone provides wrong information and if his health deteriorates, he will be prosecuted under the provisions of the Disaster Management Act and the IPC.
