Karwar: Memo submitted demanding Multispeciality hospital in Kumta as a central place

Karwar: A delegation from Kumta on Saturday, 15th June, met Uttara Kannada District In-Charge Minister R V Deshpande in Karwar demanding the construction of very much needed multi-speciality hospital in the district and in a central place Kumta.

The memorandum, which was submitted in the name of Kumta MLA Dinakar Shetty, stated that geographically Uttara Kannada is an extensive district in Karnataka. In this district, the large number of people comprise of poor, middle class, Gowdas, minorities, fishermen, Halakkis and Patgars. In case of any health treatments or road accidents, people here depend upon the hospitals in neighbouring regions  Udupi, Mangaluru, Hubli, and Goa. This has led to the economic downturn of the poor people, which is all due to the absence of a well equipped multi-speciality hospital in the district.

In the interest of citizens of Uttara Kannada, there is much need of a multi-speciality hospital in the district and urged the government to construct the hospital in Kumta, as it is a central place in the district, and would facilitate comfortable for the neighboring taluks of the district.

On this occasion, Kumta MLA Dinakar Shetty, Kumta JDS leaders Pradeep Nayak, Suraj Naik Soni, Advocate R G Naik, Dhiru Shanbag and many others were present.
