Karwar: Some people of KEB Road in Karwar entered into a verbal clash with the health department staff who had come with an ambulance to take two Covid positive children to the BCM Hostel Covid Care Centre on Sunday.

Two children aged nine and 11 residing in a house on KEB Road tested positive for Covid-19. When the ambulance arrived, their father who has recovered from Covid-19 opposed sending his children to the Covid Care Centre and said that the children will be taken care of at their home.

He said that the Covid care centres did not have adequate facilities and so, he would get his children treated keeping them in isolation at their home in Shirwad. However, the police intervened and with the permission of the assistant commissioner allowed the parents to accompany their children at the care centre.
