Karwar: Excise department sleuths, who raided two village near Karwar, have recorded liquor worth Rs 1 Lakh, which was smuggled from Goa.

They raided a house at Amadalli village in Karwar taluk and recovered 256. 140 litres of illegally stored liquor and 60 litres of beer. In another raid in the taluk, a team raided Majli village and recovered 70,500 litres and 48 litres of beer.

According to YR Mohan, Excise Commissioner, the liquor seized from Amadallli village is worth Rs 28,000.

Raids were conducted around 6 am on Sunday. The accused are absconding and search is on for them.
